Arthur Kipps has hired an actor to help him tell the story about an experience from his youth. He hopes that the telling the story will somehow "exorcise" the experience from his mind, give him peace, and rid him of his persistent nightmares. Soon, the two become immersed the frightening tale of "The Woman in Black."
