Celebrating the 400th Centennial of the Pendle Witch Trials, The Wild Woodof Widdershin is a site specific event fusing live performance and film. This vocal exploration of psychological fantasy creates a liminal place between imaginary and reality.

The performance is an adaptation taken from a recorded trial in 1612, where 9 year old Jennet Device condemns her entire family to death for the practice of black magic and witchcraft.  The performance follows Jennet's sexual awakening, as she retells her chilling story. Inspired by ancient pagan traditions, join us in invoking the mysteries of the past as we investigate the act of transformation from a sinless girl to a murderous woman.

This performance will take place outdoors in Ruff Woods.  Meet in the Rose Theatre Foyer at 5.30pm.  Please wear suitable clothing.
