THE WESTCHASE JUNIOR CHAMBER (JAYCEES) TO PROVIDE A “HYDRATION STATION” AT TERRY HERSHEY PARK IN WEST HOUSTON

Organization Boosts Hydration Awareness Among Park Attendees

HOUSTON, TX – By now, most Houstonians are hoping for some cooler weather…especially for those who exercise regularly at their neighborhood park.

In an effort to help residents stay cool and hydrated during the hot, humid months, The Westchase Junior Chamber (Jaycees) will be providing a “Hydration Station” at Terry Hershey Park, located at the corner of Memorial Drive and Memorial Mews Drive near Highway 6, on Sunday, September 12 from 5 pm – 7 pm.

Westchase Junior Chamber (Jaycees) signage will be posted throughout the park to direct visitors to the water station where iced, bottled water will be available.

“Heat-related illnesses need to be taken seriously at all levels,” says Jennie Bui-McCoy, Vice President of Management for The Westchase Junior Chamber (Jaycees.) “Simple steps such as keeping the right types of fluids accessible can help any athlete stay safe,” she adds.

The Westchase Junior Chamber (Jaycees) is a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization made up of young professionals dedicated towards developing leadership skills through service to others. Earlier this year, the chapter initiated a citywide teddy bear drive where over 2,000 bears were collected for orphans in Haiti.
