The Art with Joe Series presents "The Visual Experience" featuring limited editions by Charlie Jones, Jr. Co-sponsored by Authentic Art Consulting, this exhibition is on view at Peace and A Cup of Joe from September 15-November 3, 2007.

Charlie Jones, Jr. grew up in Youngstown, Ohio and became interested in art at an early age. He began this artistic adventure by drawing people around him. As he matured, art became more of an expression of his inner thoughts. His work is truly an expression that is uniquely his own.

His formal training in architecture at Hampton University has added another layer to his artwork (i.e. scale, pattern, and form). Charlie is inspired by the work of John Biggers and particularly admires his use of pattern, form, and layering. He focuses on artwork produced by defining opposites, black and white, through the medium of charcoal, graphite and digital alteration. His use of traditional techniques with computer technology allows for the artwork to have a unique and progressive look.

Charlie conveys a thematic abstract style which draws the viewer into the images that he creates. He challenges the viewer to not only understand his meaning behind the artwork but also to use their imagination to interpret his art as well.

Charlie currently resides in Waldorf, Maryland where he also is the owner of a successful architecture consulting company.
