Vijay Iyer is a forceful, rhythmically invigorating performer who creates exotic realms of sound where American jazz and traditional Indian music intersect. Winner of the 2004 Down Beat Critics Poll for Alto Saxophone Deserving Wider Recognition, Miguel Zenon has amassed some impressive credentials in his short but illustrious career. The San Juan native has performed and/or recorded with David Sanchez, Danilo Perez, Charlie Haden, Branford Marsalis, Ray Barretto, and the David Murray and Mingus Dynasty big bands; he is also a regular member of the SFJazz Collective.
