The Vagina Monologues by Eve Ensler, directed by Joni Panotta, and produced by V-Day.org and Panotta, will have a three performance limited engagement

Friday, February 12 at 8:00 pm, Saturday, February 13 at 8:00 pm, and Sunday, February 14 at 3:00 pm, at the NoHo Actors’ Studio.

The Vagina Monologues is made up of a number of individual monologues, all of which somehow relate to the vagina, be it through sex, love, rape, mutilation, masturbation, birth, orgasm, the variety of names for the vagina, or simply as a physical aspect of the body. A recurring theme throughout the piece is the vagina as a tool of female empowerment, and the ultimate embodiment of individuality. The purpose of the piece has evolved from a celebration of vaginas and femininity to a movement to stop violence against women.

The Vagina Monologues is the cornerstone of the V-Day movement, whose participants stage benefit performances of the show and/or host other related events in their communities to benefit organizations which are part of the movement to stop violence again women. Such events take place worldwide each year between February 1 and April 30.

This event also offers refreshments, merchandise, and auction items for purchase.

Event proceeds are being donated to V-Day.org and OPCC – Sojourn, a battered womens shelter in Santa Monica.
The NoHo Actors’ Studio is located 5215 Lankershim Boulevard, North Hollywood, 91601.
