The Usual Suspects Songwriter Showcase moves to Rockit Room for the month of August!

This month features:

Imagine Fiona Apple and Sting wrote a rock opera based on ancient Greek tragedy: this is the sound of kate kilbane & the cellar doors. A bassist, singer and self-ascribed literary geek, Kate Kilbane and her band use jazz and soul-infused rock to retell stories of Philomela, Procne, Medea—ancient Greek women whose narratives still captivate audiences today.

Anthony Bello is a true troubadour of our age. He is a singer-songwriter based in the San Francisco Bay Area, and is the winner of the West Coast Songwriters International Song Contest 2011 in the Americana category for his song "Car Motel." After listening to "Stella", his five-song debut EP, you'll want to meet Stella and all her cohorts that haunt Mr. Bello's landscape of warm guitars and wavering faith in love.

Camille Rose is a native Bay Area songwriter/pianist who plays infectiously awesome songs with catchy hooks and a unique vocal style. As a musician and cartoonist, she creates cartoons and animations to visually coincide with her music. Classically and operatically trained, Camille began writing music on piano as a child, riffing off Beethoven and Chopin, and finding comfort in honky tonk, rock & roll piano.

Host Alex Jimenez has been playing music since his parents bought him his first guitar when he was 12. His music has dark acoustic overtones, heavy on the rhythm, and influenced by bands such as Ride and Live. But you can also hear the country and folk influences in his playing. It’s this blend of styles, beautiful guitar melodies and pounding rhythms that give his music a unique yet familiar sound.

Alex is honored to be a part of a thriving songwriter community here in the Bay Area, and is excited to share the stage with them monthly, through the Usual Suspects Songwriter Showcase.
