The Used has received a lot of attention lately and not just because lead singer Bert McCracken is Kelly Osbourne's grungy ex-boyfriend. This foursome has drawn positive attention for their resemblance to such bands as Glassjaw, The Deftones, Jimmy Eat World and Finch. Saosin formed in early 2003, with Beau Burchell and Justin Shekoski on guitar and Anthony Green on vocals. Within a few months, bassist Chris Sorenson and drummer Alex Rodriguez were added to the lineup. Named for the little boy in the movie, 'The Ring,' Seattle's Aiden continues the post-hardcore sound with three albums, the most recent titled, 'Conviction.' The band's poetic lyrics, cutting drums and faultless guitar melodies create an energized rock that bridges the edginess of hardcore and the passion of punk. Actor Jared Leto, Solon Bixler, Matt Wachter and Shannon Leto make up 30 Seconds to Mars.
