The Uprights May 9, 2008

The Uprights began as the one man solo project of Jake Witt of Seattle, Washington. Two computer crashes later, Jake joined forces with Vann Geondeff and Justin in March of 2007, collaborating on new material and overhauling the old. The Uprights sound is a mix of melodic, driven, lush electro-rock and sparse ambient soundscapes using guitar, synths, electronics and vocals. Heliocentric formed in 2005 as an exploration of creativity. In the past two years, the group's sound has become firmly grounded in innovative song structures, sincere lyrics and sweeping melodies.
