When you die, your memories go toaBIGtree…An original performance piece about the myth of memory, THE TREE PROJECT follows an experience of death through life's memories.

THE TREE PROJECT is part performance, part installation. The themes of the performance piece—aBIGtree, memories, entropy, spiral, …but, where is the beginning of me?—are reflected in the art exhibition of works by DC-area visual artists which runs concurrent to the production. The production and art exhibit will open on May 21. To celebrate the universal experience of memories, an event will follow the closing of the performance and exhibition on June 7. Graciously sponsored by La Tasca Spanish Tapas Bar and Restaurant, food, drinks, music, activities, and more are included with your ticket.

The event is produced by the artists behind 2007's The Pabst and Popcorn Hour Presents an adaptation of The Tragedy of Doctor Faustus – winner of the best of the '07 Capital Fringe – Beyond category. THE TREE PROJECT was written in collaboration by: Denman Anderson, Ashley DeMain, Josh Drew, Emily Hill, Danielle Martin, Joe Miller, Niki Torres, Dan VanHoozer and Sarah Venables. The art installation and exhibit will feature work by DC artists Sean Hennessy, Erin Antognoli, Kristina Bilonick, Rania Hassan, Tina Henry-Barrus, Mitra Lora, Claudia Olivos, Sergio Olivos M., Kirk Waldroff.

Opening Wednesday, May 21 at 8 p.m. and running through June 7 at the Clark Street Playhouse in Crystal City, Arlington. Performances are at 8 p.m. on Sundays-Wednesdays, and at 11 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays. There are no performances on Sunday, June 1 and Monday, June 2. Closing performance and event will be Saturday, June 7 at 8pm.
