Dr Francesco Tiradritti is Director of the Italian Archaeological Mission to the tombs of Harwa (TT 37) and Akhimenru (404). He has taught Egyptology at the universities of Memphis TN, Foggia, Ljubljana and Naples and was for several years a consultant at the Civiche Raccolte Archeologiche e Numismatiche in Milan. Dr Tiradritti is the author of numerous articles and books; he has also organised several major exhibitions, and makes frequent appearances on TV and radio.

The lecture will be followed by a reception in the elegant surroundings of the Society of Antiquaries on Piccadilly in central London.
