The Tiptons, an all-female ensemble with four saxophones and percussion, was formerly known as The Billy Tipton Memorial Quartet, then known as The Billies. These ladies are an amazingly tight and sweet unit. Shani leads from the rear, riding and maintaining a tight, strong groove. Originally from Los Angeles, she has been playing music her entire life. When it comes to the bass, Jenn Curiel has a style all her own. Smooth and rhythmic, she never skips a beat. Lesley Grant brings sweet and sultry vocals to this great ensemble. Growing up in Georgia, she was raised on the blues and gospel music.
