The Texas Voices October 13, 2012

Professional chamber choir The Texas Voices kicks off its 10th anniversary season of public concerts with Songs from the Bavarian Highlands on Saturday, October 13, 2012 at 7 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church of Richardson, 271 N. Walton St. Richardson, TX 75081.

In the spirit of Oktoberfest, this concert features From the Bavarian Highlands, the delightful adaptation of German folk music by English composer Edward Elgar. Inspired by his travels throughout Southern Bavaria in the late 1890s, these works invoke the spirit of German folk dances, Alpine hikes, and of course, a libation or two from the local hostelries of the day. This concert also features Songs of Love by Composer-in-Residence Debra Scroggins, based on the poetry of Elizabeth Barrett Browning.
