The Taverna Sessions: Faith in Music presents Alex Mejias April 28, 2007

Taverna Sessions: Faith in Music is a new concert series that gives up and coming singer/songwriters space to perform original music while pausing to reflect on the expression of their Christian faith through music.

Five dollar cover at the door; food and drinks will be available for purchase.

Hailing from Charlottesville, VA, Alex Mejias is a singer/songwriter who has been a performing musician for the past ten years. As a singer/songwriter, he began writing while in college at the University of Virginia. Since that time his life as musician has included playing drums with the band Florez and acoustic guitar and lead vocals for the band Portrait of Another. Now, as a solo artist, Alex's songwriting has matured both lyrically and musically. His songs confront difficult realities, yet they share a common thread of honesty, frailty and hope, employing the familiar sounds of folk-rock and indie music.
