"Everything but the Kitchen Sink (or not) Cabaret"
An eclectic evening interpreted or plucked from "21" years of programming.

Culminating 21 years of astounding, groundbreaking counter-cultural programming, The Swedish Housewife presents one night only of mind-blowing, eye-popping entertainment.

Iconic figures, both dead (John Sex & Steven Jesse Bernstein) and alive (everyone else), will make appearances on June 25th at Seattle’s posh Triple Door Mainstage Theater.

Iconic in his own right, El Vez pays tribute to John Sex, the first of the Swedish Housewife’s amazing production coups d’etat. Originally brought to the Vogue in 1988, John Sex will be emulated by El Vez, and Sex’s backup dancers, The Bodacious Ta-Ta’s, will be played by Miss Indigo Blue and The Swedish Housewife (a former Ta-Ta in the 80’s). Another early Swedish Housewife find, Dina Martina makes her Triple Door debut after traveling all the way from her summer residency in Provincetown. Rounding out the recollection of the past performers, Armitage Shanks will conjure up the spirit of Steven Jesse Bernstein and his spoken word art.

From the delightfully absurd past to the irreverent present, other acts include performance artists Kathleen Hunt's Triadic Breast, Queen Shmooquan, and The Naked Folk Singer. The variety continues with the sublime Lily Verlaine “A Living Breathing Work of Art” and the youthful debut of NANDA, the juggling, stripping, martial-arts acrobats. It wouldn’t be the kitchen sink without Burlesque and Gender performances from high glamour gender-bending Waxie Moon, Ernie Von Schmaltz “The Man,The Myth, The Moustache”, and disturbingly hot mannequin action from Iva Handful, assisted by drag-lesque sensation Ultra.

Who else could control a three ring circus of this caliber? None other than New York City’s own "True Weimar Fraulein" Miss Astrid, host and founder of the legendary Va Va Voom Room. Her emcee skills will guide awestruck audiences through this ultimate Swedish Housewife concept extravaganza of Variety and Burlesque, the likes of which have never been seen before under one roof.

The “Kitchen Sink” show is the second in The Swedish Housewife’s series of 5 events titled "Still Falling Down Memory Lane: 5 shows celebrating 21 years of staggeringly delightful entertainment.” The shows, a scintillating mash-up of past and present, are an ecstatic celebration of 21 years as an independent show producer. The series opened April 9 with Joey Arias in "Strange Fruit," channeling the songs of Billie Holiday with ivory tickler Elliot Douglas for rapt audiences. The third event is the much-anticipated August 13 “Evening with Ann Magnuson,” a night of performance tailored just for this event. Fans are already abuzz about the October 8th "House of Thee UnHoly" evening of Led Zeppelin Burlesque with live rocking music. The series concludes on December 10 with John Kelly's "Paved Paradise:Redux - The songs of Joni Mitchell” an untraditional pre holiday outing.
