The Substitutes are Melbourne’s most authentic '60s band being made up of veteran 60's & 70's musicians who play the best (and the lost gems) of the Beatles, Stones, Kinks, Animals, Small Faces, The Who, Zombies, Easybeats, Yardbirds, Spencer Davis Group, Loved Ones et al.

With the soaring vocals and fluid guitar work of Dennis Millar (ex seminal 70's band Buster Brown and then Nick Charles) and Pete Robinson on bass (ex The Strangers and Blacksmith Hopkins) supported by Peter Reed on drums (ex New Dream, Gary Young & Phil Manning bands) and the punk energy of Peter Summers (guitar, keyboard), The Substitutes deliver the goods exactly like the record but with real spirit.
