The Subdudes August 1, 2007

The Subdudes came together in New Orleans back in 1997 for what they thought would be a one-night gig. They enjoyed each other's company so much that they formed the Subdudes. Their rootsy sound is mostly acoustic, with a strong emphasis on songwriting & vocal harmonies. Five albums & roughly a decade later, they split to pursue other avenues in 1996. After a few spinoff projects & a couple reunion gigs, three of the four original members came back together in 2002. Matt Nathanson has built a strong and loyal fanbase across the United States as each new recording sells more than the last. Over the Rhine's brooding, atmospheric and sometimes stark collection of songs, traditional and otherwise, are inspired by dark December evenings and come-in-out-of-the-cold midnights.
