The Soft Revolution is an interactive cinematic installation by Vancouver-based media artists Brian Johnson and Anthony Roberts. A three-channel, interactive film, The Soft Revolution's dramatic and often comedic character-driven vignettes, based on the Taoist principles of the I-Ching, show the pivotal experiences of a year in the life of a vibrant, complicated Gulf Islands family. An immersive cinematic improvisation, The Soft Revolution explodes the frame of traditional cinema by allowing for avenues of immediacy and improvisation formerly unattainable in the medium of film.
