Danced to the greatest of Tchaikovsky's three masterful scores for ballet, the full-length Sleeping Beauty opens the season auspiciously, joining the composer's Swan Lake and The Nutcracker in OBT's repertoire. First choreographed in 1890 by the illustrious Marius Petipa, this enchanting tale of a wicked fairy's curse, a century's sleep and a revitalizing kiss is famous the world over as a stirring homage to pure love triumphant and true.
