The Sister Ruby Band is the project of 21 year old Johnny Ruby, whose bedroom recording has taken wing. His debut EP “A Shot in the Dark” is dreamy good fun, with its gauzy, Jesus and Mary Chain-informed curtain of sound melding with West Coast pop sensibilities. Ruby played all the instruments on the recordings himself, with L.A. studio hand Todd Burke, who’s worked with Beck, Belle and Sebastian and the Kooks, doing the final mixes. - Buzzbands LA / Kevin Bronson
