BAMP Project, Hawaii's premier concert production company, proudly presents The Shins live April 17th at the Blaisdell Concert Hall on Oahu and April 18th at Castle Theater on Maui. Honolulu born front-man James Mercer returns to the islands after the bands debut performance here nearly five years ago.
Mercer joined by new band mates, singer/songwriter Richard Swift, Modest Mouse drummer Joe Plummer, Yuuki Matthews of Crystal Skulls and singer/songwriter Jessica Dobson, returns to debut the bands fourth album titled Port of Morrow. The band kicked off 2012 with the release of the albums first single "Simple Song" online to very promising reviews. The rest of the album scheduled to be released in March is the first new material to emerge from the group since their 2007 album Wincing The Night Away, which received a Grammy nomination for “Best Alternative Album” in 2008.
Wincing The Night Away produced hit songs "Australia", "Turn On Me", and "Sea Legs" debuting the album at #2 on the Billboard 200 album chart and selling more than 100,000 copes in its first week.
The Shins perform in Hawaii just after Coachella Festival in California. Be one of the first in the nation to hear their new album live and in person.
