The Sex Pistols Experience with The Misfats
On Wednesday, September 20, U. of O. Campus Radio 88.1 FM KWVA welcomes The Sex Pistols Experience.

Thirty years ago England’s Sex Pistols kicked off the punk rock era. They only released one album and toured the States once, yet became one of the most influential bands of all time!

Based near Manchester, England, The Sex Pistols Experience is comprised of Johnny Forgotten, Kid Vicious, Paul Crook and Steve Bones. Trained actors and musicians, they look and sound so close to the original that they are often contracted by TV and film companies to reenact moments from the Pistols’ history.

Every show The Sex Pistols Experience performs is as dynamic and exciting as the 'real deal'. They re-create the same electric atmosphere and awesome wall of sound, always giving the impression that anything could happen and always leaving the crowds shouting for more.

Johnny Forgotten takes to the stage with all the manic, man-possessed energy required to leave any audience spellbound, with Johnny Rotten’s 'stare' and 'stance' down to perfection and an arsenal of one-liners to boot. Then there’s 'Kid Vicious' posing and playing up to the crowd, fighting for the attention. Steve Bones in his tight leather jeans, trademark Gibson and an eye for the girls, plays with, as testified by Steve Diggle of the Buzzcocks, "a crashing guitar sound Steve Jones would be proud of." The whole thing is driven along relentlessly by the powerhouse drums of 'Paul Crook'.

The Sex Pistols Experience has played hundreds of shows since their formation in 2001, covering the entire U.K and winning over the toughest of critical audiences. 2004 saw the band’s reputation spread overseas with a European tour. Then they embarked upon the Biker/Scooter rally circuit, handling the transition from club audiences in the hundreds to festival audience in the thousands with ease. 2004 and 2005 saw the recreation of the infamous 1977 Queen Elizabeth boat party, held on the river Thames in London, England, attracting a sell-out audience and garnering rave reviews in both the London and national press, culminating in a headline slot on SKY News!

The spectacular quality of the look-a-like, sound-a-like ‘re-creation’ show gained the attention of BBC Television who hired the band (& Nancy) to act as stand-in doubles of the Sex Pistols for the documentary Blood on the Turntables, opening the doors to the film world. SKY's Death By Excess'- the Sid & Nancy story, used 'Kid Vicious & Nancy Spunked'on' of the Sex Pistols Experience in the key roles; acclaim at every show.

The live shows have to be seen to be believed, appealing to young and old(er) alike. So if you missed out on seeing the 'real deal', here’s another chance... This is THE band the original Sex Pistols have given the thumbs-up to and chosen to link to their website. All the songs are delivered as they should be: raw, loud and proud!

As the UK’s Daily Star aptly put it... “Never Mind the Bollocks usually aimed at tribute bands... this one is NOT a Great Rock ‘n’ Roll Swindle!!!”

The Misfats are the World's Fattest Misfits Tribute Band. They are also the only band to change all the lyrics to be about food and the "fat lifestyle". "20 Eyes" becomes "20 Pies". "I Turned Into A Martian" becomes "I Turned Into A Lardass". "Mommy, Can I Go Out and Kill Tonight" becomes "Mommy, Can I Go Out and Grill Tonight". With the Misfats, you get the devil locks and the makeup, only this time its supersized.

The Misfats have been featured in magazines such as Blender and Kerrang!, as well as a number of national dailies and independents. They've played a sold-out date with Mini Kiss, served as the opener for The Iron Maidens during the first leg of their '04 Pacific NW tour, have twice served as the opener for ex-Misfits vocalist Michale Graves, and played a highly successful show in San Francisco attended by a number of local notables, including punk icon Jello Biafra.

Admission is $10 at the door. Doors open at 7:30 pm and showtime is 8:00. SHOWTIME: 8:00 PM, PRICE: $10 Door.
