Munster, IN- As part of their celebrated 20th Anniversary Season, Theatre at the Center announces that they will host a special limited engagement of The Second City 50th Anniversary Tour. Chicago’s legendary comedy theatre, The Second City will appear at Theatre at the Center, 1040 Ridge Road, Munster, Friday, June 11 and Saturday, June 12 at 8 p.m. This event will feature some of the best sketches, songs and improvisations from The Second City fifty year history.

Drawing from the vast archives of material, the Touring Company produces a two-act review of The Second City’s celebrated brand of topical sketch comedy, hilarious songs, and on the spot improvisation that changes with every performance. An evening with The Second City provides audiences with the chance to see comedy stars in the making, a night of cutting edge comedy and an unforgettable experience. No topic or subject matter is off limits for The Second City. If your parents asked you not to speak about it at the dinner table, chances are it will be made fun of in an evening with The Second City.

On December 16, 2009, The Second City celebrated their 50th anniversary of cutting edge satiric revues as well as the launching pad for generations of comedy superstars. The Second City continues to develop the leading voices in comedy while touring the globe. Founded in Chicago in 1959, The Second City has become the premier training ground for the comedy world’s best and brightest. Their alumni list reads like a who’s who of American comedy, including Mike Nichols, Elaine May, Alan Arkin, Joan Rivers, Robert Klein, Peter Boyle, Harold Ramis, John Belushi, Dan Aykroyd, Bill Murray, Gilda Radner, George Wendt, Martin Short, John Candy, Bonnie Hunt, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Horatio Sanz, Ryan Stiles, Jack McBrayer, Tim Meadows, Chris Farley, Mike Myers, Steve Carell, Stephen Colbert, Tina Fey and countless
others.

Comedians who will be participating in the Theatre at the Center special engagement include Brooke Bagnall, Rob Belushi, Abby McEnany, Rachel Miller and Tim Ryder. Bill Bungeroth directs with Music Director Jesse Case and Stage Manager Shawn Pace.
