The Savoyaires, Evanston's own 44-year-old Gilbert & Sullivan troupe, will return to the Evanston Public Library for the sixth straight year in a free preview of the company's fall production--this year, the ever-popular "The Pirates of Penzance." Presented in the first floor meeting room on Sunday, September 14, at 2 p.m., the hour-long program will feature the "Pirates" cast in musical selections from that show, including such favorites as "I Am a Pirate King," "Oh, Is There Not One Maiden Breast," "Poor Wand'ring One," "I Am the Very Model of a Modern Major General," and "When a Felon's Not Engaged in His Employment," as well as other G&S selections. The Savoyaires' production of "Pirates of Penzance"--complete with gullible pirates, inept policemen, and fluttery maidens--runs October 10-12 and 17-19 at Evanston's Chute Auditorium.
