Archivist and raconteur Dennis Nyback appears in person to present three rare, ultra-bizarre vintage films about bad parents. First up is the slapstick Mr. and Mrs. Gump (1928) in which the Gumps toss their son around and use him as a human tow rope for their motor home. Much darker is The Case of the Kitchen Killer (1974), directed by a high school student, in which a child is rejected by his parents with lethal results. We finish up the program with the weird and miserable The Summer We Moved to Elm Street (1966) about a nine year-old girl and her alcoholic father.
