De La Soul, originated in New York in 1987, first signed to Tommy Boy Records in 1989 and was once hailed as the future of hip hop. They brought a new multi-genre, eclectic sound to hip hop that included, funk, soul, pop, jazz, reggae, and psychedelia. Their brilliant and humorous rhymes sent their first album, ‘3 Feet High and Rising’, gold on the charts, and with their Top 40 Pop Hit ‘Me, Myself, and I’ both ranking #1 in R&B. With 7 albums and 5 compilations under their belt they will also be bringing out songs in their performances from their new album ‘You’re Welcome’ set to release this year. The S.O.G.
