ABOUT THE ARTISTS
The legendary King of the Blues, B.B. King, will make his first appearance at The Russian River Jazz & Blues Festival, the weekend of September 24 & 25. B.B. King will be joined by his good friend Buddy Guy, plus Kenny “Babyface” Edmonds and a bevy of world-class musicians at this riverfront music festival, in the heart of Sonoma’s wine county.

For more than 50 years, B.B. King has defined The Blues for a worldwide audience, with Rolling Stone magazine ranking him at No. 3 on its list of the "100 greatest guitarists of all time." The most celebrated blues musician of all time, King is a 15-time Grammy Award Winner, receiving the Grammy’s Lifetime Achievement Award in 1987. “B.B. King’s musical legacy is unparalleled, and it has been our dream to bring him to Russian River,” says Rich Sherman, festival producer.

At age 74, Buddy Guy has achieved it all… he’s a Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee, a major influence on rock titans like Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, and Stevie Ray Vaughan, a pioneer of Chicago’s fabled West Side sound, and a celebrated musician, earning 6 Grammy Awards and 23 W.C. Handy Blues Awards, the most of any musician in history.

Producer and recording artist, Kenny “Babyface” Edmonds will headline the Jazz Festival on Saturday. A 10-time Grammy winner with 11 solo albums of his own, Edmonds’ single and album sales have reached an excess of 500 million units worldwide. He has written and produced chart- topping music for megastars like Michael Jackson, Eric Clapton, Aretha Franklin and many others.

Also appearing at the festival is Grammy Award winning guitarist Norman Brown, plus saxophonist Richard Elliot, Jackie Greene, Ana Popovic, Jeff Golub, Kim Nalley, Lightnin Malcolm featuring Cameron Kimbrough and local jazz band Shade.
