In an effort to re-define the status quo of rock and roll shows and alternative electronica parties, Shanghai’s The Rogue Transmission have teamed up with France’s One Step Inside and Orange Zebre to establish “the Rock Electro Ratio”.

From April 25th through May 2nd, these three acts will travel around China in a battle for sonic supremacy. “the Rock Electro Ratio” builds upon the recent trend of joining rock bands with DJs and electronic artists, offering fans a potent dose of heavy, dancey music.

Joining on the Beijing date will be local Rock Heroes P.K.14 and new valued band Shake Hands With Danger.

THE ROGUE TRANSMISSION
Born in the winter of 2007, The Rogue Transmission has already established themselves as Shanghai's premier rock and roll outfit. Leaders of a new brand of loud, fun, and chaotic rock, The Rogue Transmission has been packing venues in, and around, Shanghai with their monstrous riffs and bolstering live performances. Featuring members from the U.S., U.K., and France, The Rogue Transmission draws from a wide range of influences including punk, power pop, classic rock, metal, psychedelia, and 50s boogie, creating and crafting a sound that is uniquely their own. Compared to Motorhead, Queens of the Stone Age, and the MC5, The Rogue Transmission plays rock for the masses, infecting audiences with their big, feel-good hooks, and undeniable energy.

ONE STEP INSIDE
One Step Inside is an electro-live band born in
2005 in Lille, France. Formed of a trip hop/rock
musician, an electronic music composer and a
turntablist, they developped a new approach of
music through acoustic/electric instruments
combined to numeric and analogic devices. And
if this wasn't enough, videos are also part of the
experience to fully complete the fusion of music
and emotion.

ORANGE ZEBRE
Bedroom Research label co-founder, Orange Zebre's particularity is to sing and play acoustic instruments that disturb electronic machines at the same time. He performs a real alternative style growing between corrosive blues, punk rock music and experimental jazz.

P.K.14
P.K.14 occupies a space in Chinese music that might be analogous to that of Television or the Talking Heads in the New York of the 1970s. They are among the most thoughtful and self-referential of bands, with an enormous curiosity about music coupled with a complete inability to care about musical fashion. Among the older bands ( i.e. those formed before 2002) they have the greatest influence on Beijing's younger bands. But for all the love these bands have for P.K.14, and although they are at the heart of the Beijing scene and among the most loved and respected of the Chinese indie bands, at the same time they are unique and seem to be traveling in their own scene.

SHAKE HANDS WITH DANGER
The sound of wind whistling through bones. That’s an apt way to describe the music of Shake Hands With Danger, a new musical force in the Beijing underground rock scene. Combining the sounds of post-punk, rock, with goth and country sensibilities, it’s the kind of band that a whiskey-swilling preacher would listen to while on the run with a boot load of cash he embezzled from his flock. There’s two big guitars, keyboards for bass and thumping drums in this band comprised of four musicians from different parts of the globe. Shake Hands With Danger have already won hearts and minds with their demos and live shows in the Chinese capital.
