The Recording Academy® Texas Chapter will hold a one-day educational and networking summit for statewide GRAMMY U® student members on Saturday, April 30 from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the AMD, Lonestar Campus. GRAMMY U students from the University of Texas, Texas State University, Austin Community College, Dallas Baptist University, San Antonio College and University of Houston will have the opportunity to meet leading industry professionals and participate in intimate workshops that focus on all aspects of the music industry.The day will conclude with a GRAMMY U Music Showcase.

Rain Maker Artists (Blue October, Bowling for Soup) Transmission Entertainment (Fun Fun Fun Fest, events/concerts at The Mohawk, Red 7), AMD (technology/gaming/sound) , and other leading organizations in the fields of music, entertainment and technology will participate in the summit.

Additionally, GRAMMY U members have the opportunity to submit their website, music video, EPK, or demo by Tuesday, April 19 at 5 p.m. to be considered for the GRAMMY U Music Showcase. Showcase winners will win one song recorded and mixed by GRAMMY®- nominated producer, Chris "Frenchie" Smith, at The Bubble Recording Studio in Austin, Texas.

"GRAMMY U membership can take students' future careers to the next level, giving them access to programs, panels, performances, and mentor opportunities with music industry leaders," says Recording Academy Texas Chapter Executive Director Theresa Jenkins. "We welcome all students to participate in this inspiring day."

The event is free for GRAMMY U members; college students may become members and register prior to the event or onsite the day of the event. The summit provides GRAMMY U members the opportunity to learn directly from industry professionals and offer them a chance to promote their skills and experience.
