The Reader (Stephen Daldry, 2008) will be screened on Thursday 1st October 2009 in the Studio Theatre. The film is a 15 certificate.

A haunting post-WWII drama concerning the relationship between a 15-year-old German boy (David Kross) and a mysterious woman (Kate Winslet) twice his age, and the way that it grows doubly complex when the man (Ralph Fiennes) re-encounters the woman years later, and discovers a shocking truth about her past. Based on Bernhard Schlink's best-selling novel, Oscar and Golden Globe winner Kate Winslet gives an exemplary yet understated performance as Hanna Schmitz.

Contains nudity and scenes of a sexual nature.
