This will be a fast-paced variety show featuring music, comedy and spoken word performances, and a speech by Bob Anderson from STOPTHEWARMACHINE.org. Due to Bob’s recent arrest and potential legal problems, we are encouraging anyone who is able to donate to Bob’s legal fund or to the Center itself.

The event harkens back to the days of peaceful social activism of the late 60's, and we are billing it simply as an advertisement for PEACE, featuring live music, spoken word, and art. All the artists are donating their time and effort for the sake of promoting peace and love in the world, which we all know is sorely lacking…and Albuquerque is a great place to start!

There is a lot of excitement already being generated, and I have had a lot of support for this event, especially since the original date at HARLOWS was cancelled at the last minute. I hope we can start a national trend. I have not seen an event like this being staged anywhere else in the country yet, and it’s high time people started taking action to promote intelligent, compassionate debate on the purpose and the validity of the on-going “war on terror” and the recent
developments in the middle east, North Korea and Iran, even if it means just sitting down and hanging out with like-minded people.

Albuquerque slam-poetry legend Kenn Rodriguez and friends will be back, as well as Dale Harris, Bill Nevins and Priscilla Baca y Candelaria. JASPER BROWN will also be back to regale us with his unique brand of ‘Atmospheric Americana from the high desert of New Mexico’. My band, GROUND ZERO, will perform some classic protest songs, and local bands PERSEPHONE and VAKINA DENTATA will each play a set. I guarantee the line up will be entertaining, thought provoking, and enlightening. Please join us at the ABQ Center for Peace and Justice on Veteran’s Day, November 11, 2006 to make your voice heard and help fight the power!
