Rondie Pottinger; filmmaker, photographer, humanitarian founder of savejamaica.com film academy, will be having his annual photo/art exhibition at the Brooklyn Artist Gym, June 23rd to June 29th. Whatever your reason for loving the islands, nature, or just the primacy of mother earth, The Pottinger Collection offers an encapsulation of what is primitive inside what is digital. These images of the smaller, the slower, and the more organic aspects of life seek to rest in your heart with the same passion that they grew from the artist's. Born in the impoverished countryside of Jamaica, Rondie Pottinger was emotionally connected to its supple landscape at birth, and it has become his language; virtually an extension of who he is. The Pottinger Collection expresses this primal connection; displaying an appreciation of nature with an immediacy that only such a background could develop.
