The Poet and the Writing Life

University of Toronto

How does a poem move from an idea in the writer's imagination to a text on the printed page? Professor Warkentin will share her insights into the complex process of writing, revision, collaboration, and compilation that helps bring poems into being, with visual and written examples from the works of Petrarch, T.S. Eliot, Ezra Pound, and others.
