The Philter are an indie, surf duo from Detroit Michigan, consisting of Nik Burridge on guitar and vocals and Kim Lambert on bass. Their music is characterized by driving surf leads, thumping drum machines and reverb drenched distortion. Their songs juxtapose the the structural and chordal simplicity of the doo wop era with the sounds of modern indie rock and dark lyrical themes.
