The Perfect Date Chef Challenge April 11, 2010

Celebrating a decade, challenging chefs get creative with California Dates. The Perfect Date Chef Challenge will showcase nine previous winners during the event on Sunday, April 11th at Fantasy Springs Resort Casino.
This is a one of a kind event fit for all foodies. Chefs use dates to create appetizers, entrees and desserts. Rather than a blind taste test as in years past, contenders will compete in a head to head, timed live challenge before culinary experts and food writers in the resort's Special Events Center.
After the professional judging, the chefs' creations will be available in the ballroom for the public to tast and vote on in the People's Choice Award.
In addition to first place prizes, the chefs will be contending for the $2,000 Best of Show prize and for a $500 Nutrition Bonus.
Proceeds from ticket sales benefit scholarships for local students pursuing hospitality and culinary professions. Tickets are $35 and are available in advance or at the door.
