Pennsylvania Cable Network (PCN) Humanities On the Road Series

The Pennsylvania Humanities Council (PHC) has joined forces with the Pennsylvania Cable Network (PCN) to produce Humanities on the Road a new television series hosted by award winning journalist Tracey Matisak. The series will feature taped speakers from the PHC's Commonwealth Speakers Bureau at 24 sites throughout the state.
The Heritage Center has been selected to present The Pennsylvania German Groundhog Lodges with PHC commonwealth speaker and anthropologist Dr. William Donner, Kutztown University. He will speak on the little known history of Groundhog Lodges that celebrate Pennsylvania culture and pay homage to the weather predicting abilities of the groundhog. The public is invited to the free program to hear the presentation and dialogue with Dr. Donner. The program will be recorded by the PCN network.
