Kadi Zahalka will speak about the new generation of Muslim judges in Israel, and about his field of expertise, the Fiqh al Aqalliyyat Doctrine (Muslim Minority Jurisprudence), and its implications regarding Muslims in Israel. This event marks the only New York City appearance as part of their North American Tour.

This dialogue is taking place because Rabbi Dr. Ron Kronish, an Israeli transplant from NY, noticed a change in the Israeli Courts, singling out the passion and dedication of Kadi Iyad Zahalka. One of only eleven, Kadi Zahalka is part of a new generation of Kadis (Muslim judges) in Israel who are intelligent, effective and energetic in their commitment to their professional work in the Muslim courts of the State of Israel. Kadi Zahalka talks about the “revolution” that has taken place in the Muslim religious courts in Israel. In addition to his work as a judge, Kadi Zahalka is active in interreligious relations, while opening up dialogue with Jews and the Jewish community of Israel in serious and sensitive dialogue. In the spirit of building bridges, Rabbi Dr. Kronish and Kadi Zahalka will continue their conversation throughout North America.
