Jackie Taylor's 'The Other Cinderella' is the most popular production produced by the Black Ensemble Theater. This most celebrated Black fairy tale returns to the stage every two years and this will mark Cinderella's sixteenth triumphant return. The show always features some new surprises while maintaining the characters that many love, the Stepmama who works at the post office, the Fairy Godmama from Jamaica and the Brothers from the hood. Just as in the traditional Cinderella, there is a King, a Queen and a Prince, but in this kingdom, everybody has soul. 'The Other Cinderella' is appropriate for all ages, featuring original music, exciting dance and a heartwarming story that reminds audiences of the greatness of the human spirit.
