The attraction of sex

What happens when sight and sound collide to create an explosive
and arresting display for the senses?

Answer: The Opposite Sex! Live at the Black Cat for their CD release
show August 12th.

Four local musicians and one local filmmaker embark on a razor sharp
journey through sound and images ranging from sublime to shocking.
The Opposite Sex employs the bass as their primary weapon of choice,
as bassist Paul Bernardi fuses melody with a savage intensity. Drummer
Dave Srvjcek ultilizes both an acoustic and electric kit creating more
space to deliver driving rhythms informed by tribalism.
Singer/keyboardist Shawn Helton brings a sense of urgency with an
adrenaline fueled dance and cascading vocals. Guitar player Dave Nicholas
is a recent addtion. Supplying the backdrop, filmmaker Eric Helton edits
film clips in real time, layering stirring
visuals seamlessly with the music. Let the Opposite Sex bury you!
Show starts at 9:30 pm.
