The Notwist April 13, 2009

THE NOTWIST undoubtedly belongs to the crème de la crème of what's happening musically with our eastern neighbours. Its already 6 years ago now since the band was here on the AB-stage for the first time. That was for the release of their classic 'Neon Golden'. That we had to wait so long for follow-up 'The Devil, You + Me' has everything to do with the musically hungry members if The Notwist, their side-projects (including Console, Lali Puna, 13 & God, ...) also consumed much time.

Those who thought that The Notwist might have lost some of its glory are immediately set right with 'The Devil, You + Me'. De Morgen - that gave the record a ***** review - described directly: 'After a milestone like 'Neon Golden' many wondered, concerned, if The Notwist could ever equal that piece of work. We can reassure them: following an interval of six years, the band from Weilheim has made a new masterpiece.' So there you go. Also: we recently saw the band at work at the Primavera Festival in Barcelona and can report that the band is sounding as lively and memorable as ever live. Basically: after three earlier visits to AB: welcome back!
