The North Oak Cliff Greenspace Committee is hosting their Second Annual Greenspace Golf Tourney at Stevens Park Golf Course and we need your help!
As you know, The Dallas Parks Department is working on a Master Plan for improvements to Stevens Park, Stevens Park Golf Course, and the portion of Coombs Creek that runs along the Kessler Parkway greenbelt. Neighborhood involvement and having this Master Plan were primary reasons that this area was included in the upcoming bond package.
We have appointed your neighbor, Edwin Cabaniss, to chair a committee to work closely with the Parks Department. The Greenspace Committee will also work with the North Oak Cliff neighborhood associations in a collaborative effort to raise awareness and money for the project. Private donations will be separate from bond monies and will be part of an endowment held in a sub-account at the Oak Cliff Foundation. The endowed monies will be distributed at the discretion of the committee to fund the “extras” that the City’s budget does not cover. The committee is working with three neighborhood associations on exciting beautification projects to be announced in the Fall.
The centerpiece for funding the endowment is the annual golf tournament at Stevens Park Golf Course. We are excited about the Second Annual Greenspace Golf Tourney, which will be held on Monday, October 9, 2006.
In order for this event to be successful, we need the support of the community. Sponsorship opportunities range from $250 to $10,000, with associated benefits as indicated to the right.
