Kazemde George (18) is a Jazz tenor saxophonist and composer with years of experience playing professionally in many different settings. From an early age, Kazemde began taking lessons at the piano, but at the age of ten he fell in love with the saxophone and has been playing almost every day since. Originally from Berkeley, California, he attended MetWest High School, a small public school in Oakland. During his high school years, he spent much of his free time practicing and playing professional gigs with the Oaktown Jazz Workshops, led by Khalil Shaheed. These days, Kaz continues to rigorously purse his education both musically, and within the sciences. He was accepted at Harvard University and the New England Conservatory at the age of 16, and is currently studying neurobiology at Harvard University, and Jazz Composition at the New England Conservatory under Danilo Perez and Jerry Bergonzi. Kazemde's compositional approach is centered on creating interesting harmonic and rhythmic environments for group improvisation. He draws influence and inspiration from a plethora of different artists within many different genres, including Jazz, Rock, Hip-Hop, Funk, Classical, and others.
