Sex Cartoon Extravaganza
Screens at Oddball Films

On Friday, May 29th at 10:00PM Oddball Films presents Portland archivist and curator Dennis Nyback’s program The Naughty to Nasty Sex Cartoon Extravaganza, featuring rare risque and hardcore sex cartoons. The screening takes place at the Oddball Films Screening Room, 275 Capp St in San Francisco. Seating is limited so RSVPs are essential. RSVP to: [email protected] or 415-558-8117.
The program including films featuring the cartoon cuties Betty Boop, the infamous Everready Hardon (in the classic short Buried Treasure), a hardcore Hansel and Gretel adult fairy tale and many obscure and seldom (if ever) seen smut cartoons. All films screened in 16mm film with a special intro and Q+A with cinema historian Dennis Nyback. Nyback is known for his encyclopedic knowledge of animation and cinema history so don’t miss this hilarious and hugely informative carnal cartoon extravaganza.

“Eighty minutes of historic risque and hardcore cartoons. Lots of fun
for the smutty one. The program will start with the historic and hilarious Everready Harton (starring in Buried Treasure) that was made in collaboration by New York animators in 1928 taking a break from the companies of Max Fleischer, Paul Terry and Raoul Berre. The program will end with the 1970's hilarious answer to Everready, The Further Adventures of Super Screw. In between will be some great barely legal titilaters, and more hardcore. The naughty stuff will include Betty Boop, shorts by Tex Avery, and the great Wladyslaw Starewicz's 1912 stop motion masterpiece The Revenge of a Kinematograph Cameraman. The weirdest toon in the program is a 1960's Japanese hardcore version of Hansel and Gretel with a backwards music track. A bizarre laboratory screw up creates a strange and compelling vibe. You can also listen for Satanic messages.”-Dennis Nyback
