The Naked And Famous formed in Auckland, New Zealand, in 2008. After releasing two critically acclaimed EPs, the group exploded onto the world stage after their self-released single “Young Blood” debuted at number one in their home country in May 2010 and saw them quickly signed by UK label Fiction Records. “Young Blood” went on to platinum sales in New Zealand and by March 2011 was also certified Gold in Australia. The song won the group the prestigious APRA Silver Scroll songwriting award in New Zealand for 2010 and in early 2011 the international accolades began to follow as the The Naked And Famous collected the Philip Hall Radar Award at the Shockwaves NME awards in London. Previous winners of this fresh talent award from NME have been Drums, Glasvegas and The Big Pink.
