The Mystery of Irma Vep
a comedy by Charles Ludlam

“It’s Monty Python meets Young Frankenstein.”

Voted one of the best plays by Time Magazine & New York Times.

A joint production between The Company Theatre and Cameo Theatre, Charles Ludlam’s hilariously campy send-up gleefully ransacks literature and pop culture and satirizes everything from Hitchcock to Shakespeare.

One "dark and stormy night," Lady Enid, new mistress of stately Mandacrest, learns her husband's late wife Irma Vep was murdered and that something is prowling the moors. They soon encounter a werewolf, a vampire, an Egyptian princess and a mummy. Enid realizes she must quickly crack the Mystery of Irma Vep...

With dozens of lightning fast changes, two gifted (male) actors portray all eight characters - men, women, and monsters - in a gender-bending “tour-de-farce!” - fun for all ages.
