What do you get when Irish music meets the music of an African-American string band? A musical mash-up from two continents that call themselves High Roads + Railroads! The Music Center inaugurates FLASHFEST at Grand Park featuring Irish group, Téada, and African-American string band, The Ebony Hillbillies! Special guests will offer workshops – visual arts and dance – for your learning pleasure. And it’s all free! (If you want to make your own washboard, join Angela Lloyd’s workshop by registering.)

FLASHFEST is a new pop-up arts happening that explores all art forms in myriad ways with appeal to all ages and interests. Each event will turn on a particular theme, which will be up for a short time and then disappear until the next FLASHFEST. Food trucks and craft beer tastings available for purchase. Get comfortable and bring your lawn chairs and blankets to lounge on!
