In 1968, under the auspices of Life magazine, photographer Howard L. Bingham and journalist Gilbert Moore began a historical journey that would document not only the public, but also the more private life of several leaders of the Black Panther Party. Bingham's photographs reveal the energy of political education classes, conferences, public rallies, demonstrations, court and jailhouses.
