The second mainstage production of The Hansberry Project at ACT, directed by Valerie Curtis-Newton. An African-American family's strength and faith are tested as they search for a talisman powerful enough to guide them through their grief and isolation after the senseless death of their younger son. Rahman's use of the jazz aesthetics' language, rhythm and imagery mark this as a significant play in the African American canon and a forerunner of the emerging hip-hop theatre scene.
