The Woman's Board of the Winnetka Community House will present The 17th Annual Modernism Show with top quality examples of Art Nouveau, Arts and Crafts, Prairie School, Art Deco, Art Moderne, Mid-Century and other 20th Century design movements. Furniture, paintings, illustrations, photographs, jewelry, metalwork, pottery, textiles, clothing and other decorative arts from these important periods of design will be offered for sale by dealers from across the United States.
Chicago is a noted birthplace of Modernism, and The Modernism Show in Winnetka is proudly among the first and finest of its kind in the nation. Over 50 outstanding and knowledgeable dealers from across North America and Europe will present their first-rate collections and be available to personally answer showgoers questions to help them discover Modernism for themselves. Many of these dealers exhibit nowhere else in the Midwest.
On Friday, November 3 a benefit Cocktail Reception will take place from 6:30 to 9:30 pm. Tickets, which also include 2-day show admission, can be purchased for $70 per person at the Winnetka Community House in advance or by calling 847/466-0537. Tickets are $80 per person if purchased at the door.
The Modernism Show is open from 10 am – 6 pm on Saturday, November 4, and from 11 am – 5 pm on Sunday. Tickets for 2-day admission are $12 and educational lectures are included in the price of the show ticket. The Modernism Show, produced entirely by volunteers, benefits the Winnetka Community House, a non-profit recreational, educational, and cultural arts organization serving the North Shore of Chicago.
