THE MIRACLE WORKER
Runs January 23 through March 15, 2009
Thurs, Fri. & Sat. 8PM and Sunday 2PM

AN AMERICAN CLASSIC RETURNS TO THE
LOS ANGELES STAGE AFTER FIFTEEN YEARS
• Emotionally inspiring and amazing story of Annie Sullivan and Helen Keller
• The first LA Production since the passing of American Playwright William Gibson

Writer, William Gibson first became fascinated with Anne Sullivan and her triumph as Helen Keller's teacher while reading the letters that Anne Sullivan wrote in 1887 describing her experiences in the Keller household. First written as a television play for the series Playhouse 90, Gibson went on to adapt it for the stage, where it had its Broadway debut in 1959, starring Anne Bancroft and Patty Duke. In 1962, they reprised their roles in the feature-length film, each winning Academy Awards for their performances. This amazing story of taking a six year-old deaf, blind and mute Helen from a silent prison into the world of unlimited possibilities, has captivated audiences for nearly half a century.

“The Miracle Worker” now running through March 15, 2009, at The Matrix Theatre. Performances are Thursday, Friday, and Saturday 8:00PM and Sunday 2:00PM.
